Supporting Regional Input into a Global Human Rights Strategy

A regional human rights institution was invited to contribute to the development of a new multi-year strategic plan for a leading international alliance of national human rights bodies, GANHRI. The process required input from diverse regions and demanded careful alignment with international standards, as well as sensitivity to emerging global challenges such as climate change and civic space restrictions.

Arband Partners was engaged to help the regional institution navigate the consultation process and maximise its influence. Our team conducted a comprehensive stakeholder mapping exercise, identifying key actors and potential allies within the alliance. We facilitated a series of virtual workshops to gather regional priorities, ensuring broad participation and consensus. In addition, Arband Partners provided analytical support, helping the client articulate its priorities in a manner consistent with international human rights frameworks and the Paris Principles.

The client’s feedback was prominently reflected in the final strategy, particularly regarding climate-related risks and the protection of civic space. The client reported greater confidence engaging in international fora and has since replicated the consultation approach in other collaborative projects.
